What is Train to Gain?

The training identified could be anything from National Vocational Qualifications to bespoke courses or Skills for Life (Literacy, Numeracy and English language) or it could be a combination of these.

 What are the benefits?

  • The benefits of a trained and qualified work force are
  • Motivated staff – enhanced productivity, a happier work force
  • Staff retention – improved continuity in staff means a more highly skilled work force and less recruitment costs
  • A competitive business – Good productivity and well qualified employees all help when tendering for business
  • Funding – Public funding could be available for the identified training.

How do we provide it?

One of the Work Force Development Officers (WFDO) from the college will visit you at your organisation to conduct a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) in order to establish the training required and the method of delivery that would best suit your organisation eg: assessment in the work place, day/session release to attend class at college, classes in the work place, 1:1 or a combination of these.

The WFDO will help you and your staff with the initial application process which will then be passed onto an assessor/tutor in the appropriate faculty of the college. The assessor/tutor will then get in touch to make an appointment to start the training/assessing process that will lead to the required qualification.
