Hairdressing NVQ Level 3

A flexible syllabus, enabling training to be tailored to meet specific needs of employers & their employees. It gives participants the opportunity to build and develop more advanced hair dressing & styling skills, covering modules such as creative cutting & restyling, colour correction & effective use of resources.

Who will benefit:

This course is designed for any experienced stylist to develop supervisory skills in the salon for training, assessing, promotion and improving creative technical skills. Applicants should be enthusiastic and willing to develop customer care skills. It is important to be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

Entry requirements:

Hairdressing NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. Working within a salon environment is essential in order for the participant to build their work-based portfolio as well as the ability to demonstrate an appropriate level of inter-personal skills as this is a customer focused industry.

Course Aims:

This route offers those wishing to pursue a career as a hair dresser/stylist, an opportunity to develop new and existing skills whilst gaining hands on experience within the workplace.

The programme is assessed by a range of methods which will include practical assessment, written and oral questions, project and assignment work. There is no upper age limit and the continuous assessment will allow a degree of flexibility for students with previous experience to progress more quickly.
